Connie Gilhuber

Assistant coach

Girls Varsity Softball

Coach Connie enters her third year as an assistant coach at Sheldon, heading up the Irish pitching staff.  Connie was a four-year starting pitcher for the University of Oregon, finishing her career in 2002 ranked second all-time in strikeouts as a Duck. She won Pac-10 honorable mention honors in 2000, and was named Pac-10 Player of the Week in 1999 after picking up wins at UCLA and Washington.  Prior to her Oregon career, Connie was a standout four-year starter at North Eugene High School.  In her senior season at NEHS, Connie pitched her team to an 18-0 league record (with all 18 games resulting in shutouts) en route to being named Midwestern League MVP, 1st team All-State, and Register Guard Female Prep Athlete of the Year.  Connie finished her high school career 3rd in the national record books for consecutive shut-outs pitched (20), and also led her teams to 5th place finishes at 16U ASA Nationals (1996) and 18U ASA Nationals (1998).  In addition to coaching at Sheldon, Connie is in her fifth year as the head coach of a Eugene Lightning 16U team that started as a 10U group.
